Survivor Speak Tools: Group and Individual Training for Survivors
Survivors, whether in residential or outpatient care, or not receiving services at all, will be provided with education to aid in their understanding of the basic neurobiology of psychological trauma, including the resulting symptoms of dissociation and general living in “survivor mode”. This training will provide knowledge about how information is processed in the brain, when the brain is able to receive it, and when other techniques such as Survivor Speak "tools" are a more useful way to take in and maintain information.
Each client will be introduced to these "tools" and how to use them, over the course of several weeks or months, in either individual or group settings. Ideally, care providers will be participating in these workshops along with their clients. Dee Clarke, Survivor and Founder of Survivor Speak will facilitate this training.
